Srinagar, June 29: The administration of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday launched the “yatra22” mobile application and webpage to track the health care facilities of pilgrims undertaking Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2022 and to facilitate identification and tracking health facilities during emergencies, officials said.

According to the official release, the mobile app and webpage were launched by Principal Secretary of Department of Health Medical Education (H&ME) Manoj Kumar Dwivedi who informed that the app is available on Google Play Store and the IOS platform and is also accessible through a web browser. .

Speaking at the launch of the mobile app, Dwivedi said for smooth facilitation of the holy devotees, 150 health facilities have been established from Lakhanpur to Holy Cave by the health authorities and everything has been made available on the application with all coordinates and distance of the person accessing the application/portal.

The Principal Secretary further said that the Ministry of Health has also deployed about 1,500 highly qualified health personnel for the duties of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2022 as infrastructure has increased threefold during this year’s Yatra . He added that this was done to ensure seamless and smooth delivery of health care to pilgrims by the UT administration.

The Principal Secretary also noted that the mobile app will eventually cover all 3500 J&K UT healthcare facilities and asked officers to map all of J&K’s healthcare infrastructure through this app to that the general masses can benefit through this mobile application.

Dwivedi also appreciated the department for pushing this initiative forward as well as implementing and launching the portal/app in a short period of time.

As part of the newly launched mobile app, the mobile ambulance network, including the 102 and 108 ambulance system of more than 200 ambulances, has also been mapped through the app and will also be available in real time for the pilgrims. By pressing a button on the app, the nearest ambulance driver will be activated and reach that location which will also merge with “Google maps” to provide directions and the expected time to reach that healthcare facility. Dos and don’ts for pilgrims have also been incorporated into the Pilgrim Safety App.
