COMPANY NEWS: Australian data insights company TechConnect is on track to nearly double its revenue this fiscal year amid unprecedented demand from customers struggling to cope with a tsunami of insecure and complex data.
Celebrating its 11th year in business, the Gold Coast-based company TechConnect provides end-to-end data management and cloud migration solutions to help organizations gain valuable insights from data that was historically considered a cost center.
TechConnect employs 60 highly skilled people across seven locations and expects that number to grow to more than 100 within 18 months. This will include the continued growth of the company’s highly successful, Queensland-based postgraduate program which has placed 24 people in the company over the past five years.
Tech Connect CEO Mike Cunningham said the company had grown more than 300% in the past five years and was investing to continue growing.
“TechConnect expects to more than double its revenue this fiscal year as the level and complexity of data its customers must securely manage continues to increase exponentially and as more organizations migrate. their workloads to the cloud,” says Cunningham.
Reflecting on the significant changes the company has undergone in its first 11 years of operation, Cunningham says TechConnect’s focus on building long-term customer relationships has been key to its success.
TechConnect has long-standing customers in the resource, finance, gaming, public sector, agriculture and healthcare sectors in Australia.
“We help our clients shape their data analytics strategy, giving them a platform to innovate with artificial intelligence and machine learning to create maximum value from insights. which previously would have been seen only as an expensive liability,” Cunningham said. .
Cunningham said it was already clear that 2022 will be a pivotal year for how Australian organizations use data to differentiate themselves.
“Australia’s economy, like many others, is facing a period of fundamental change that only happens once in a hundred years, driven by forces such as new global rules to operate in the face of climate change, faster decision-making at scale thanks to Covid, and an avalanche of information to digest These factors simply did not exist a decade ago, but they will define our future and they will have a significant impact on productivity , competitiveness and business survival Organizations that see their data as a strategic asset in this new environment will thrive, those that do not will fail.
TechConnect graduates, whose skills range from data engineer to IT support/infrastructure engineers, have played a significant role in driving innovation for projects such as healthcare, operations mining and resources, gaming and retail.
As part of TechConnect’s societal mission and the value it places on playing a role in improving society beyond financial success, it would also expand its relationship with Source of sharinga Brisbane-based personnel provider based in the Philippines and Vietnam.
Cunningham said: “The vast majority of our graduates and staff in general will still be based in Australia, but five years ago we began working with Sharesource, with the intention not only of finding qualified employees in beyond Australia, but to help make a difference in their lives. So far, TechConnect has worked with three highly skilled employees based in the Philippines and one in Vietnam, and we intend to continue providing opportunities. They are often highly skilled, college-educated mathematicians and data scientists, and they have delivered significant value to our customers. We see this as a differentiator for TechConnect. »
