All Greater Anglia train routes between Ilford and Stratford were blocked after a lineside fire caused cancellations and delays to trains on Saturday afternoon (June 11). Greater Anglia has warned customers online, saying train services through stations between Ilford and Stratford could be cancelled, delayed up to 60 minutes or revised.
The fire damaged signal cables in the Forest Gate area and affected all services passing through Stratford. Network Rail staff and firefighters were at the scene.
Greater Anglia has confirmed that the London Underground will pass Greater Anglia ticket holders on all routes. Passengers were asked to find alternative routes this afternoon.

In a tweet, Greater Anglia said: “Due to a line side fire between Ilford and #Stratford, all lines are in lockdown. Rail services through these stations may be cancelled, delayed up to 60 minutes or revised. .”
He added: “Due to a fire along the line which has damaged signal cables in the Forest Gate area, all lines are blocked. This affects all services through Stratford, including Stratford services to Meridian Water Network Rail staff and firefighters are on scene.
“Greater Anglia and Network Rail are sorry if your journey has been affected by this disruption.”
