Pearl TV and the iWedia team will accelerate the development and time to market of new TVs and smart devices for the Android TV market

Setting a new standard in live television, NEXTGEN TV’s trajectory expands further into a growing ecosystem of partnerships and accelerator programs

The program accelerates and streamlines the adoption path of NEXTGEN TV technology by consumer electronics manufacturers producing smart TVs and related devices in volume in the Android TV market.

iWedia’s robust ATSC 3.0 software stack includes an advanced media player and browser that enriches the features and interactive capabilities developed by Pearl TV and the Pearl Network Consortium. Manufacturers of TV-on-chip (SoC) systems in the Android TV space will benefit from iWedia’s operating system agnostic and a streamlined process for enabling consumer features with Pearl’s pre-integrated SoC solutions. Additionally, the IoT and in-car infotainment capabilities not only provide TV makers, but also vehicle makers and broadcasters, with even greater freedom to layer on those consumer-desired elements.

Now broadcasting in more than 50 markets, NEXTGEN TV is expected to reach 60% of viewers in the United States by the end of 2022. And consumer interest in the new technology is also strong: according to a recent study by magic85% of viewers without a NEXTGEN TV are likely to buy one next year.

New resources that consumers can use to see if NEXTGEN TV is playing in their city, as well as an e-commerce page for researching and purchasing models, help raise awareness.
