How do I track group spending on Google Pay? Follow these simple steps

According to the recent data published by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), digital payments volume in India grew by 33% year-on-year (YoY) in the financial year (FY) 2021-2022. A total of 7,422 crore digital payment transactions were recorded during this period, compared to 5,554 crore transactions observed in the financial year 2020-21. Moreover, the use of digital payment apps in India has increased significantly, especially after the pandemic, which forced people to stay indoors and order all essentials through online platforms.
Therefore, many digital payment platforms are constantly coming up with new and innovative solutions that not only aim to ensure greater adoption, but also improve the overall user experience. Google Pay, a leading player in this category, has been focused on building solutions that simplify real-world use cases for every way money changes hands between people.
One example is the launch of the Bill Split/Groups feature introduced by Google Pay in November last year at its flagship Google for India event. This feature makes it easy for people to split a bill among members of a group and easily pay group expenses. It eliminates the need to argue or calculate the amount manually. For example, let’s say a user goes to lunch with three friends and spends INR 1000 on food bills. If the user is making the payment through Google Pay and the four friends are in a group on the Gpay app, the user can simply select the expense and split it into four. As the remaining three friends pay, the user will be able to follow any outstanding from the application, via its simple interface.
