Girl Scout Web Cookies Don’t Track You – Kenwood Press News

The motto of the Girl Scouts is “Be Prepared”, and even a global pandemic has not been enough to undermine this positive attitude.

As the world has adapted to COVID with homeschooling, video conferencing and restaurants offering take-out cocktails, Girl Scouts are following suit by tapping into the internet and a booming delivery service to maintain their annual cookie sales.

“Sales are of course not as great as before the pandemic, but we are getting along well using the new apps and delivery systems that the Girl Scouts have put in place,” said Troop volunteer Janette Eubank. 10435. “Income dictates what we can do as a troop.”

All regional troops are offering new ways for customers to find and buy cookies online (ilovecookies.org), including contactless delivery through the food delivery app, Door Dash. The 2022 cookie season runs from February 1 to March 27, and all cookie flavors are $6 a box (plus shipping). Consumers can find a number of Girl Scout online stores and have their favorite cookies delivered right to their doorstep, or anywhere in the country, or find the nearest Girl Scout booth to sell cookies safely. and in person.

“It will be great for girls who have families across the state and across the United States and just for the convenience of it all,” Eubank said.

Much like high school seniors or high school students whose graduation is hampered by COVID-19, many local members of Troop 10435 have been with scouts for years and are witnessing a rough end.

“Most of our girls have now been together since kindergarten and are now working towards their Gold Awards,” Eubank said. “It is so wonderful to have seen these young women mature and navigate the Scouting experience together over the years learning life skills as they go. I’m so proud of each one of them for coming this far; it’s not an easy task, especially as they get older and their schedules become more grueling.

For those who want to support a specific scout or troop, Eubank said each girl gets credit when they create their own digital cookie site. “Family and friends are encouraged to purchase this way so Girl Scout gets credit for the sale.”

If the new way to buy and deliver isn’t enticing enough to sustain the sale of cookies, Girls Scouts is unveiling a new cookie called Adventurefuls, described as “an indulgent brownie-inspired cookie with caramel creme and a hint of sea salt”. .”
