EKU’s Perry and Carter Take ASUN Track Honors

After their performances at the Cardinal Classic in Louisville this weekend

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – Quantasia Perry and Samuel Carter of Eastern Kentucky University took home ASUN’s weekly track and field honors following their performances at the Cardinal Classic in Louisville this weekend.

Perry was named ASUN’s female athlete of the week, while Carter took home ASUN male athlete of the week honors.

Perry broke his own school record in the 200-meter indoor Saturday, clocking 24 hours. That rating eclipsed her previous school record of 24.27, which she ran last season. It is currently the fastest time over 200 meters of ASUN.

The Covington, Ga. Elder also placed third in the 60-meter final on Saturday, with a personal best and ASUN time of 7.52.

Carter was fourth in the triple jump on Saturday in Louisville, registering a jump of 45-9.25. This currently ranks # 4 in ASUN.

The Savannah, Ga. Elder also set a personal best 6.97 in the 60-meter, which puts him third in the conference.

Perry, Carter and the rest of the Col.’s track team are having a vacation before returning to action Jan. 14-15 at the Jim Green Invitational in Lexington.
