CSK and SRH want to get back on track

Mumbai, April 08 (UNI) Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will be looking to get their campaign back on track when they face off in the IPL Round 17 match at DY Patil Stadium here on Saturday. The two captains, Ravindra Jadeja and Kane Williamson of CSK and SRH respectively, will be looking to draw attention to their winning abilities as they have failed to lead their teams convincingly. CSK have lost all three matches this season, facing Kolkata Knight Riders, Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings. Hyderabad, on the other hand, also suffered back-to-back defeats, losing their first two games of the season to Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants. Jadeja can look to build on the past record there, where CSK enjoyed a lot of success over SRH. Moreover, CSK has a huge advantage over SRH in their one-on-one matches. In the 16 games they have played, CSK lead 12-4 against SRH and also hold a 4-2 lead in their last 6 encounters against SRH in the last three seasons, including the double in 2021. CSK would depend on Shivam Dube, who managed 109 points in three matches with a magnificent strike rate of 165.15. In the bowling department, they hope Dywane Bravo continues with his form. He claimed five wickets from his three appearances. MS Dhoni regained their form at the start of the season. He broke 50 unbeaten runs on 38 deliveries in the opener against KKR and then scored 16 of 6 against LSG, which propelled CSK to a mammoth 210/7. The former India captain had also performed the saving act in the last game against Punjab with a vital 23 through which Chennai could reach 126, while chasing 181. CSK hopes the old fox delivers once again for them. In contrast, SRH is starved of power hitters in the top three. They opted for more than a traditional perspective. Rahul Tripathi has yet to shine like he did for KKR. Meanwhile, Abhishek Sharma is yet to establish himself in the IPL after moving between franchises in recent seasons. Nicholas Pooran is the only hitter in SRH who can clear the ropes. Although he went out on a duck in the first game, Pooran showed glimpses of his drive in the second, albeit in a losing cause. CSK’s Ambati Rayudu needs 29 runs to complete 4000 runs while Williamson needs 97 runs to complete 2000 runs in IPL. While SRH’s Pooran is 3-high from 300 sixes in T20 cricket, CSK’s Moeen Ali is one wicket away from 150 wickets in T20 cricket.
